The COVID-19: Consumer Representative Hub is a closed group here on Amplify, the online engagement platform of Health Consumers NSW. It has been formed to support NSW health consumer representatives to contribute to information gathering, problem solving and practical actions that support the response to COVID-19. It is open to any health consumer that is currently or has recently worked with health services within NSW to improve the system, or the experience or health outcomes for consumers. What is a health consumer representative?
A health consumer representative is a health consumer who has taken up a specific role to provide advice on behalf of consumers, with the overall aim of improving health care.
A consumer representative is often a consumer member of a committee, project or event who voices consumer perspectives and takes part in decision making on behalf of consumers. A health consumer representative may be nominated by and accountable to, a consumer organisation.
